The Best Products for Baby & Mama

The Best Products for Baby & Mama

ALRIGHT MAMAS & FRIENDS,
READ BELOW TO FIND OUT WHICH PRODUCTS ARE THE ABSOLUTE BEST

For those of you who do not know me, I have always struggled with red, irritated, dry & bumpy skin. I have such sensitive skin, especially my face. Self care and a good skin regimen is so important to me that I had to find the perfect product to use on both my little boys. WELL... this took me an entire year to figure out after using several different products. I had to find something that did everything for them to not only have baby soft skin, but reduce the dry skin and eczema. This was the ultimate mission for me.

For myself, I currently use both BEAUTYCOUNTER and ACURE hair products. I use ACURE only for my face and skin. These products are seriously the perfect combo of nutrients for my skin and hair. They are both paraben free, sulfate free, mineral oil free, formaldehyde free, & cruelty free. Not to mention both of these brands are vegan!!! I am not vegan but I love me some plant based products. I specifically use the brightening cleansing gel and the 100% plant squalane face oil as shown below.

For my first son (18 months), we used several different hair and skin products from multiple companies. I am going to list what we have used in bullet points to make it an easier read. I have linked some items to Amazon for an easy find. All these products are healthy but none of them fit the standard for the dry skin. As always if you can shop small and spend a little extra then please head to the product's website directly to do so!

  • We have tried the plant-based premium baby oil from Hello Bello (not on Amazon) which is made with super nourishing baobab, tamanu, jojoba, and other natural oils (no mineral oil).
  • We have tried the eczema therapy moisturizing cream from Aveeno which helps to reduce the itching and irritation caused by eczema. It's made with natural colloidal oatmeal which helps protect and strengthen the skin’s moisture barrier and prevent dryness. This lotion is also fragrance free, dye free, paraben free and phthalate free.
  • We have tried the gently scented wash & shampoo from Aveeno which has a soothing oat extract and it is also hypoallergenic, tear free, and gentle enough for everyday use.
  • We have tried the baby soothing oil from BEAUTYCOUNTER (not on Amazon) which has a mix of organic coconut, jojoba, and sunflower seed oils. This oil is suppose to soothe and soften baby's skin for a comforting, calming experience. The formula is safe for newborns and absorbs easily without the greasy feeling (this is true).
  • We have tried the ultra gentle soothing lotion from Burt's Bees which is made with natural ingredients including shea butter, jojoba and aloe and is fragrance free, paraben free, SLS free, and phthalates free. It's also been tested by pediatricians.
  • We have tried the hair & body wash from Doterra (not on Amazon) which has a calming blend of vanilla extract with CPTG lavender and roman chamomile essential oils. It also contains a raw east African muyao shea butter and has a unique fatty acid profile for soft skin. This one is also tear free.

I know that is a LONG list but sometimes you just have to find what works, right? After having Caden for a year and using some of these products, we noticed his eczema was not going away and we were NOT going to medicate him for this so we kept researching and finally after baby number 2, we found the PERFECT products!

Conan had really dry skin around his temples and forehead from 0-2 months, even on the top of his head. This is when I ordered the baby oil from both BEAUTYCOUNTER and Hello Bello. I was super excited to try these and I actually got the Hello Bello one for free with my diaper box. Unfortunately, neither of these worked for my baby after several days of use.

It wasn't until my best friend who is now a mom discovered Tubby Todd. She told me about the all over ointment (10% off coupon linked) and then sent me a code to use for my first order and was literally like "Ash, you have to get this."

I trusted her words because she is actually my BEAUTYCOUNTER consultant and also uses organic and/or vegan products as well. I can't even begin to describe this ointment but it has worked on Caden's eczema flare ups and Conan's dry skin. I use it all over their body after every bath which is usually every other day because I mean who has time to bathe 2 kids at 2 different times and every night... NOT ME!

As far as hair products go, we finally gave the shampoo + body wash from Babyganics a shot, which is also a plant based product. It's non-allergenic, tear free, paraben free, phthalates free, dye free, and fragrance free. I mean what more could ya want! I love this one because not only is it lightly scented, it is super soft for baby. If I forget to put on the lotion, because ya know that happens sometimes, I don't have to worry about them having dry skin in the morning.

I will forever use Tubby Todd and Babyganics for my babies, even as they get older. I might switch all hair and bath products to Tubby Todd to make it easier when purchasing items. But overall, both have been amazing and work like a charm for the babes.
